Finally - MODERN BALLET STUDIO MELODIES, VOLUME 7 has been recorded, mastered, listened through on playback (many many many times!) and is finally (at the time of writing) sat waiting fot the iTunes police people to check it out before they give it their seal of approval and release it worldwide. I never understand the timetable from hitting 'submit' and thene it going live - sometimes it takes merely 1 or 2 days and other times it can take 3 or 4 weeks.
It's been a really busy few months at MBSM HQ. In September 2014 I started as head of musicians and music staff at Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham. It's been a long few weeks learning this new job but I'm really enjoying it. Around 7 weeks in I've not relocated to Birmingham which means I won't have the gruelling 5/6 hour journey every day too and from Brum. I'm now less then a 5 minute walk away from work which is good. Whilst working in Brum I'm still keeping up all my oter work.
In September 2014, Christopher will join the staff at Elmhurst School for Dance in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet as head of musicians and musical support.
This job will give Chris the opportunity to continue to musically train dancers, engage with pianists to help them understand the importance of correct musical support during ballet class / rehearsals and to initiate a training scheme for musicains. This scheme will teach musicians how to accompany classes and rehearsals.
OK - so after what seems like months and months of composing, meetings, classes, performances etc - this project has now finally been completed! I believe the IDTA will be launching the new music around the summer time of 2013. I hope if you're IDTA registered you enjoy the new ballet music I've created for your exams.
The first part of this project has now been recorded. It will be launched Summer 2012 - until then it's now time to get composing the music for grade 3 upwards!
Chris has been commissioned by the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) to compose their new syllabus music for grades prepatory through to grade 6. Prep - Grade 2 will be launched in 2012 with the remaining work being launched publically in 2013.
