It's been a very very very very long but exciting July!
- Volume 6 is now available to download via iTunes (click here!),
- my website is now completely redesigned - it feels modern and much easier to navigate and just look at (!)
- summer performance of Flux: A State of Change is now complete. It's always great working on the Centre for Advanced Training in Dance (CAT) scheme in the north west. Based at the Lowry and run by the brilliant Jonathan Poole - it really gives students a real experience of contemporary dance culture from historical analysis and appreciation through to modern works.
It was bitter sweet as I also had to say goodbye to my colleague Julie Bruce (amazing percussionist - especially for contemporary class or choreographic works) as she's moving to London. After 3 / 4 years of working together and spending over 20 hours a week creating music - it was always going to be emotional!
Anyway - summer time is now here. Working this week rehearsing for a few gigs in town later on this month with Julie (Revolution de Cuba if you're interested - check my personal twitter for details - dates times @cnhobson), a few Ceilidh weddings gigs with Triple Scotch Ceilidh Band - accompanying Flamenco classes at the Spanish Institute in Manchester (Yes playing a cajon - great instrument and lots of fun!!) summer schools in York, OPES (Nottingham) - x2, Elmhurst (x2) then there will only be one or two days to spare before work starts at Elmhurst on 1st September - certainly no rest for the wicked!
It's going to be a great summer though especially in regards to the summer schools - get to work with some amazing teachers and instructors - Nathalie Leger (ex Ballet Monte Carlo & Northern Ballet), Olivia & Errol Pickford, Pete & Shannon Parker and last but certainly not least - the amazing Brenda Last.
